Has your stairs or windows disappeared? Do they suddenly look like plants, columns, doors, or fireplaces? Well, you have what I call "Download Overload". What this means, is that you have too many objects in the build category. It affects all build mode objects except for wallpaper, floors, and the water tool. Below is a step by step way to change this objects from "Build" to "Buy" Mode. There are 2 examples, using Transmogrifier and SimCatagorizer. You will need to download one of these programs. Just click the thumbnails to see the full size image. Okay, lets get started!

USING TRANSMOGRIFIER:
Open up "Tmog" and look for all your windows, or whatever build objects are giving you problems - I usually to change all but the default build objects to "Buy Mode". This means you have to search by the name of the file (hopefully it will say "window" or "door", etc...in the file name). When you find an object, click on it, and then click "View Object" to make sure it is what you want to change. Click OK (you will go back to the previous window) and then click "Edit Object". tmog01
Now a new window appears. This window just gives you information about the object (name, price, ect...). At the bottom of it you will see "OK", "View Object", and "Edit Definition". Click on "Edit Definition". tmog01
Now the fun begins! A new window will open. This time there are lots of things that determine what this object can do or not do. We are only going to be changing 3 of them. The first one is the type. Scroll down the window on the left until you get to "Build Mode Type". Click it, and then look at the right. You will need to click on "None" (this removes the object from build mode). tmog01
Next, scroll up until you find "Function Flags". Click on it. Look to the right and this is where you change where your object will be catagorized in the "Buy Mode" of the game. I usually put all build objects into "General", but you can place them where you want them. Just click which catagory you want. tmog01
Almost done! Now, scroll up to "Room Flags". This will determine where your object will show up if you sort your "Buy Mode" by rooms in your game (this can be done buy clicking "Buy Mode" 2 times). Click on "Room Flags" and look to the right. I have chosen "Miscelleanous", but you can choose any room you like. This will make the object show up there. Click on the room you want. Now click on "Ok", then at the next window, click "Ok" again. You are now back to the main window of "Tmog" and can move on to the next object you want to change. When you are all done, be sure to exit "Tmog" and start your game to see if you missed anything. tmog01

It takes a bit to get used to using build objects in "Buy Mode". One thing is you can't add more than one at a time. You have to go and click the catalog picture again, just like normal objects. Also, removing them is the same as other buy objects. But you use the wall tool in Build to remove the windows and doors. Also, if you are new to Transmogrifier, don't be alarmed about the flashing 12:00, it's normal for it to do that (in version 1.4)
